Welcome...

to one of New Hampshire's treasures. We exist under authority of RSA 227-H:2 to raise and sell seedlings to "...persons who desire to plant them". Our goal is to provide customers with the highest quality, bare-root seedlings for forestry, conservation and education purposes at attractive prices. We believe we have achieved that goal and offer more than 50 different bare-root seedling species and specialty packages of incomparable quality.

We have a small program by most standards (see About Us) and that allows us to concentrate on product quality and customer service. Our experienced staff and seedling quality are unsurpassed. We do not import seedlings from out-of-state or transplant seedlings from other sources. All of our seedlings are grown from seed (see From Seed to Seedling) in our own seedbeds. This ensures that our seedlings are well adapted to New Hampshire climate, free of disease and insect pests. Our seedlings are useful for many purposes including: 

bullet wildlife food and cover
bullet site reclamation
bullet erosion control stream bank and wetland plantings
bullet reforestation
bullet hedgerows for wind and snow breaks
bullet Christmas tree growing stock

New Hampshire State Forester Philip Bryce says, "Since 1910, the New Hampshire State Forest Nursery has occupied an established role in contributing to the well being of the state's forests and forest economy. Planting trees and shrubs is an important stewardship activity for landowners who wish to improve our environment for future generations. Our State Forest Nursery is part of our heritage and an investment in our future."

Customers who need larger plants for landscaping purposes are referred to one of the many excellent private nurseries in New Hampshire and locally.
