- Tall evergreen tree native to western United States. A magnificent
tree with soft, 3/4" to 1 1/4" dark green needles radiating in all directions
from the branch. A popular Christmas tree. Susceptible to late spring
frost; avoid planting in low areas. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. Excellent response to shearing, one of the fastest growers. Principal enemies: Rhabdocline and Swiss needlecasts. Grows best in central and southern
New Hampshire. Mature height 60 to 80'. Seed Source: San Isabel National
